Ting and Wen are easily affected by each other's moods, so they do their best to maintain high spirits during training and competition. The twins are so closely connected that Ting even once felt the physical pain endured by her sister when she had hurt her knee. The sisters are also often mixed up because of their identical appearance. When asked to point out some discerning features, the sisters agree that Wen is more easy-going than Ting, who is more subdued. Both of the girls have great love and respect for their parents and their recent success has made it possible for the sisters to help them out financially. The girls admit that being at the top of their career means that they must spend a lot of time away from home, which is sometimes tough for the family loving girls. At the 2006 Doha Asian Games both of the girls were sick during their routines, but they managed to put on a performance that left everyone stunned by its artistic and technical perfection. The girls ended up beating many stronger rivals, namely the Japanese and Russians, to win the gold. They also received a second gold medal in the team event. |
