A pair of identical twins have both been charged with the same single assault after the alleged victim admitted that he did not know which of the two men supposedly attacked him. Both Gavin and Rhys Higgins have been charged with beating up 40-year-old Darryl Churchill in the ongoing trial at Cardiff Crown Court. Churchill alleges that he was "punched and kicked" and ended up with facial injuries requiring surgery after the incident involving one of the 21-year-old brothers. He said: "Someone came up to the table and tapped me on the shoulder. It was one of the twins and he said: 'Remember me at the pool match? Come outside.' "It was one of the twins - I don't know which one. They both look the same to me." The twins have denied instigating the attack, with Rhys claiming that he was initially struck by Churchill and Gavin telling the court that he witnessed his brother being hit first before both men fell to the floor. |
