Twins at same school after error

Four-year-old twins who were told they could not start the same West Midlands school, due to an administrative error, have begun the term together. Tom and Emily were both able to attend Oldswinford CE Primary School when a second place became available. The council said it was unaware another child in the family was at the school. Ms Farmer, from Stourbridge, said the decision had meant she had gone through "a few months of hell". She said: "They phoned me up on Wednesday and told me a place had become available for Tom." A Dudley Council spokesman said: "A place at Oldswinford became available when it was turned down by a parent who is moving out of the area. "We have now offered this place to Mrs Farmer."
