The X Factor: Let The Tears Commence

It must be stressful being Simon Cowell... just look at his poor biro, it's been chewed half to death.

In the final instalment of Bootcamp weekend, it seemed there was still a lot of dross to get rid of - and Simon knew it. He barely cracked a smile for the first 20 minutes.

But finally, some good singers appeared.

Essex wide boy Olly Murs, 25, managed to get a smile out of cranky Cowell.

Jamie 'Afro' Archer, 34, then scored the famous thumbs up and giggly Stacey Solomon, 19, even got a wink after her rendition of There You'll Be.

On the scale of Cowell's compliments, I reckon that's about an 8/10. Not bad.

Then it was time to deliberate. It's going to be "rough" warned Cowell. What does that mean? A fist fight?

No, nothing as exciting as that unfortunately - they just whizzed pictures around on a computer.

But then the decision was made - the final 24. Cue sob music and a montage of contestants crying their eyes out whether they got through or not.

Cheryl started crying. Dannii started crying. I started crying.

But it all seemed to be going ok until those irritating, cocky twins John & Edward were put through. They make me want to throw something at the telly.

I presume they were picked so Louis can get them in matching blue blazers and perch them on a couple of stools?

They should not be allowed to speak - or sing for that matter.

Then the judges found out who they will be mentoring:

Simon got the over 25s, Cheryl the boys, Dannii the girls and Louis the groups. Everyone seemed happy enough.

But then it got emotional again as they previewed the tears and tantrums from next week's judges houses episodes. I really must stop crying at The X Factor...

At least until next week.
