Identical twin brothers Jay and Andrew Levandoski, who shared a birthday on Tuesday, are now sharing the accommodations of the Sudbury district Jail, but for different and unrelated crimes. On Monday, Andrew was sent to jail for 14 months for attempting to obstruct justice, assault, mischief, unlawfully in a dwelling house, and breaching a court order. by the end of the week, he was joined by Jay, who received a 30-day jail term for breaching a curfew order. Court was told Jay was a passenger in a vehicle that police pulled over because of erratic driving, about 2:30 a. m. Wednesday. After checking the driver for impairment, police turned their attention to Jay, who was under a court-imposed curfew of 11 p. m. to 5 a. m. It was his birthday, said Levandoski and some of his friends had invited him out for a drink. "I lost track of time," he said. When he realized how late it was, he scrambled to find someone to give him a ride home. "I took any ride I could find. I guess I took the wrong one," he said. Andrew got his 14 months for assaulting a female friend, smashing her cellphone and breaking into her home last February. And then phone her on the eve of his trial on the charges. She testified that Levandoski phoned her to invite her to a party at his brother's home, but she declined because he had been drinking. Later he showed up at the apartment and although she told him to leave, he broke in, got in argument with the woman and assaulted her. He also broke her cell phone. (Edit:Ruby) |
