MINNEAPOLIS - Military personnel are usually gone for months or years, often leading to missed key milestones in their families, including the birth of their children. But through fate and timing, one Minnesota soldier made it home in just time to see his twins born. Tricia Matzek is due to be induced and deliver her twin boys in a few days. She had been waiting for her husband Brian who is coming home from Iraq. At the airport, military families are given a pass allowing them to go through security and meet loved ones at the gate. Grandpa captured 5-year-old Katlyn and 2-year-old Emma, waiting for the plane to arrive, the moments before Brian came through the tunnel and the first hugs in six months. When Brian was deployed, the family knew it was a real possibility he would not make it home for the twin's birth. Then Brian learned his unit would have a planned leave at the end of October. He made it home just in time. (Edit:Ruby) |
