Man U appeals on mistaken identity

Manchester United claims referee Chris Foy incorrectly booked Fabio da Silva instead of his identical twin brother Rafael against Barnsley in the Carling Cup.

Fabio was playing at left back and Rafael at right on Tuesday, when they both went in to tackle Jamal Campbell-Ryce in the second half of a game that Man United won 2-0 to advance to the quarter-finals.

United submitted a claim of mistaken identity to the Football Association and the case will be heard next Tuesday by a regulatory commission.

United completed the signing of the Brazilian twins in July 2008 when they turned 18.
