(AP) - A fire chief says a Connecticut mother and her three young children killed in a fire at a Bridgeport public housing complex had visited a Bridgeport city firehouse just last week for fun and had their picture taken. Fire Chief Brian Rooney said firefighters responded early Friday morning and pulled the four victims from their apartment, breaking a window to get in as smoke poured out from under a locked door. The four were identified as 22-year-old Tiana Black, 4-year-old twin girls Nyasija and Tyasija Williams, and 5-year-old Nyshon Williams. The cause of the fire was under investigation. The fire chief said the fire started in the kitchen. A relative said Black worked at Goodwill Industries while attending school. (Edit:Ruby) |
