Thai twins Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana defeated French pair Michael Llodra and Nicolas Mahut on Sunday to win the men's doubles title at the Thailand Open 2007.

The Ratiwatana brothers will be attempting to make amends as they take on Cecil Mamitt and Treat Heuy of the Philippines for the men's doubles gold medal today in Vientiane.
Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana, who lost to the Filipino duo in the men's team final, easily trounced Nesa Artha and Christopher Runagkat of Indonesia 6-2 6-4 in the semi-final yesterday. Mamitt and Huey prevented an all Thai final showdown by beating Danai Udomchoke and Kittipong Wachiramanowong 7-5 7-6 (7-2).

However, the two-time singles gold medallist Danai advanced to the singles semi-final following a straight set 6-0 6-4 win over Bun Kenny of Cambodia. But Kittipong was stopped in the quarter-final, losing to 2007 bronze medallist Tan Nysan of Cambodia 6-7 6-7.

Former champion Suchanan Viratprasert was shown the exit by Filipina Denise Dy 7-5 2-6 6-7 in the women's singles quarter-finals. The Thai No 2 wept after her second loss to Dy, the first coming in the team event.

However, Suchanan and partner Nudnida Luananam advanced to the women's doubles semi-finals to join Tamarine Tanasugarn and Varatchaya Wongteanchai.
