BEERSHEBA, Israel, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A childcare provider was arrested in Israel Tuesday for allegedly abusing 7-month-old twins, police officials said. The twins' parents, who resided in Beersheba, filed a police complaint saying the nanny, a resident of Dimona, beat and shook the babies, Ynetnews.com reported. The parents said they were suspicious of the nanny's practices when the children exhibited strange behavior, and installed hidden cameras in the house. "Any abuse of a helpless body is serious, and the injury doesn't necessarily have to lead to hospitalization. The nanny did not deny the allegations against her, and said she was agitated," said Beersheba Police Commander Yoram Sofer. The nanny was being held in custody. (Edit:Ruby) |
