SONG GIRLS: Millie, left, and Hope Katana at the recording studio in Manchester to record their single Don't Waste My Time

TALENTED twins Mille and Hope Katana have got their new year off on top note -- by recording a CD single.

The 14-year-olds, both regulars at The Bolton Lads and Girls Club, got a taste of the celebrity lifestyle yesterday as they worked in a top studio with a producer to the stars.

And their adventure was all down to kindhearted Bolton businessman Brandon Pilling, who "bought" the time in the studio at an auction and gave it to the girls after hearing them sing at a Lads and Girls Club fundraising event.

Millie and Hope, from Summerseat, spent five hours hard at work at Blueprint Studios in Manchester under the watchful eye of renowned producer Phil Critchlow. He has worked with legends and established artists such as Elton John, Lilly Allen and Elbow.

Millie said: "We have been recording in the very same studio as Elbow recorded. That is amazing for us. We have been blown away.

"It is really lovely that people like Phil are willing to give up their time to work with us.

"He has worked with people who have shaped the music we listen to today. It is an honour."

Phil said: "The girls have a real raw talent. Both of them have great voices and the song they have written is very impressive.

"It will be interesting to see what happens with them in the future, but the strength of their ability is definitely there."

The girls' CD, called Don't Waste My Time, will be available for free download in the spring.
