89-year-old Donate for Treating Models

On January 22nd, Liaoning Evening News got a phone call from a reader, inquiring about Hong Yu, saying he would donate some money for Hong Yu. But the reader didn't leave his name. He called again in the afternoon, saying he had donated 50,000 Yuan.

Who is Hong Yu? Who is the the anonymous donor?

Let us review the heroic story of the moral models. Hong Yu and Hong Bo are twin brothers in Xinbin Manchu autonomous county in Fushun city. At 1 a.m. On November 4 2006, Hong Yu who worked in a car shop was choked up by pungent smoke suddenly. He woke his brother beside subconsciously while coughing. The brothers got out of room immediately, only to find the corridor full of choking smoke. They stumbled to the stairs according to memory, and the gate was steps away. The fire was not completely burned, and they could have escaped safely so long as they didn't stop. However, the younger brother Hong Yu suddenly came up with something and stopped, asking his brother anxiously, "Haven't others come out yet?" The older brother Hong Bo looked back and listened well, "There's no voice. Are they choked unconscious?" "Let's go to drag them out." The two brothers who was about to be safe ran back into the smoke again. They held hands together and touched along the wall, while shouting, "fire, run!" Then, the foreman two daughters of the boss on the second floor woke up and escaped from the fire immediately. The brother spent a hard time going back to the dormitory, and the four people in the room were startled by the smoke, not knowing what to do. Dragged by the twins, the four people stumbled out of the room. All of a sudden, the cushion on the stair got burned and fire became bigger. The second floor got filled with smoke, and the temperature became higher and higher. In the chaos, the gate was opened by escaping people, and cold air rushed, reacting intensively with the smouldering air. The fire ball came over violently. The older brother Hong Bo fell off the second floor, and the younger brother Hong Yu passed out, both captured in conflagration.

Around two o 'clock, the fire was finally put out thoroughly. The fire burned almost 50% of the body for the brothers Hong Bo and Hong Yu. Most part got burned severely to degrees two or three, with respiratory burns to different degrees. Their life was at stake.

Some media in Dalian reported the news of Hong Bo and Hong Yu brothers saving lives in fire and getting injured. People were deeply moved. Compassion donations came to the hospital. With the mass concern and hospital treatment, Hong Bo and Hong Yu brothers have passed the crisis, and begun to recover gradually. Although their body is unlikely to recover to what it was before the injury, they did not repent. They said that given the chance again, they will do the same thing.

Hong Bo and Hong Yu has won honorary titles like Liaoning provincial moral models, Liaoning provincial Lei Feng medal and so on.

On Jan. 5, 2010, the younger brother Hong Yu came to Shenyang to treat nephrotic syndrome. The family had borrowed money everywhere, and the father Hong Zhaochen said, "We don't want to bother the society again."

Back to the donor. Reporter then called Hong Yu's father Hong Zhaochen and confirmed that a 89-year-old man donated 50,000 Yuan anonymously, and told them not to get the money "lost". 50,000 Yuan, is not small amount to anyone.

Yesterday, reporters got contact with Uncle Li the donor, and he said, "Don't ask for my name, and don't look for me. I don't want to be exposed. Now the most important thing is to care about Hong Yu and gather money to cure him." He said that after getting 50,000 yuan in cash from bank, he specially called police and for being escorted to the hospital.

One is the moral model, and the other is an anonymous man who helped others. We are moved by such warm events time and time again. The society needs love, and people needs mutual care.
