Taiwan 11-year-old Brave twins Face Cancer with Smile

Twin sister Jingchen (right) and Yuchen (left) got cancer one after another three years ago. They have fought with the disease together, and encouraged other patients with their singing and dancing.

China news net reports in March 29 according to Taiwan China Times, Taiwan Jiafu Foundation praised children with tenacity. 11-year-old twin sisters Huang Jingdchen and Huang Yuchen suffering from cancer was among them. They were brave to encourage other patients with singing and dancing. Their mother who beats time for them is full of happiness on the face. She said happily, "The children are braver than me."

Their parents divorced when they were still babies. Their mother has been taking care of the sisters and their grandmother. The family is in good relationship.

Twin sisters suffer from cancer one after another, and never complain about the painful treatment.

To their surprise, the younger sister Yuchen was diagnosed as rare malignant histiocytosis three years ago. One year after that, the older sister got the same illness too. The sisters both needs surgery and chemotherapy. "Knowing about my daughter's disease, I cried on the way from the hospital to home. Then I had to face the reality." Huang said that the daughters were thoughtful and brave, and never complained about the pain. She couldn't forget how Jingchen woke up by herself to go to the toilet although she was still weak with gauze. Jingchen told her later, "You are so exhausted, and I can manage."

Once when Jingchen was sent to hospital urgently because of cerebral thrombosis, Huang was so worried. Yuchen then consoled and encouraged her immediately, "Mom, it's not your fault."

Mother and daughters face disease with smile, to feel the happiness in sorrow.

The sisters usually encourage each other too. Yuchen had failed six times when having the chemotherapy and cried with tears. Then Jingchen pat on her shoulder and said, "Don't worry. It will be all right. I will buy chicken legs and wait for you to share."

The anti-cancer process was painful though, no matter how optimistic and brave they are. Huang said that they were seeking for happiness from sorrow. Yuchen got quite fat because of the side effect of chemotherapy. But she didn't care, explaining "I am swollen after the heat." The sisters have lost hair because of the chemotherapy, but they said with smile, "We can wear fake hair." "We hope to spend everyday happily." The sisters were still singing and dancing on the stage, moving many people by facing life challenge with optimism.

Jiafu foundation praise 24 children with tenacity.

Jiafu foundation chose 24 excellent children with tenacity for the praise from about 40,000 children they help all over Taiwan. Some of them take care of sisters like a mother, some take care of sick father, and some fight with disease. But they never complain, trying to overcome difficulties.

Liu Yuchen in grade four in primary school from a single-parent family has inherited congenital visual impairment from his father. Reading can make his eyes worse. But Yuchen said that he didn't want to give up studying, and he wnated to become a doctor of maths in future.

Lin Huiting in grade five in primary school also come from a single-parent family. She shouldered the responsibilities of take care of her father who suffers from Lou Gehrig's disease. So she could attend school for half time everyday, and had to catch up with classmates' notes.
