A Twin Got Vaccination Twice

Morning news reports (reported by Zhu Kai & Xiong Bo) A pair of twin sisters got people confused when getting vaccine at the disease control center of Hanchuan city: a vaccine for the younger sister was injected for the older sister by mistake.

Till last night, the older sister Hu Kexin who got the vaccine twice was still in observation in Wuhan children's hospital.

36-year-old Hu Changtao is a father of two children. He recalls that he and his wife Xiang Zhangrong took the twin daughters Hu Kexin and Hu Keyi to the disease control center for vaccination at 2:30 PM on April 8. Kexin and Keyi needed different kinds of vaccines.

Getting the inscription, the couple took the twins to the injection room. It was Kexin who got the vaccination first. But when it was Keyi's turn, the nurse's words made the couple worried. She said both vaccinations had been injected.

Hu Changtao then found the mistake: the two kinds of vaccinations which belong to two children were written on one inscription for a person. That meant both vaccinations had been injected for Kexin.

Xiang Zhangrong also revealed a horrible detail: in fact, the couple had taken the twins for the Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine Live. But the younger sister didn't get it because of cold. So only the older sister Kexin got it at that time.

In the afternoon on the 8th, Kexin who got three injections in a month began to react abnormally with crying restlessly. With the couple's intervention, the disease control center sent her to Wuhan children's hospital at 5 p.m.

Required by Hu Yanchagn, HanChuan city CDC (center of disease control) issued a statement stating the events that day. They promised to take responsibility for Kexin's abnormal reactions.
