China new net reports on May 10 Hong Kong children's psychological counselor Cai Qiwen who has a pair of twins said that with the popularity of scientific and technological assistance, the rate of Hong Kong twins has grown rapidly by 12.5 times for the past years from 1998 to 2008.
 
According to Hong Kong Wenhui news, it's difficult to be a mother, let alone a mother of twins which requires more effort.
 
Cai Qiwen said that with the popularity of scientific and technological assistance, the rate of Hong Kong twins has grown rapidly by 12.5 times for the past years from 1998 to 2008. There is a chance of twins among every 80 pregnant women. She suggested that twins' mother should respect twins as individuals and let them develop according to each one's own interest.
 
Auxiliary reproductive technologies has not only brought hopes for infertile couples, but also increased the chances of fraternal twins or identical twins and raised the proportion of twins drastically.
 
According to the data, twins' mothers' proportion are increasing globally, especially in developed areas like the United States and Hong Kong. In the past twenty years, the twins' rate had only grown by 67%, in which natural twins by merely about 0.03%, and unnatural ones as high as 0.21%.
