Sanya Film "A City and Two Girls" Arouse Sensation in Beijing

South China Sea Reports in December 10: The capital of Beijing ushered in the first snow of the year today. The feature scene film "a city and two girls" co-produced by the Sanya city government and the Changchun Film Studio was premiered in Beijing, bringing a glimmer of warmth to winter Beijing.

This is the first film to show the close relationship between people of Hainan and Taiwan with the background of the beautiful scenery and local people's living emotion. The film script was made by the famous playwright Huang Shiying, and it was directed by national level director Han Zhijun, also director of the TV series "fence, woman, dog". The film was started in middle October 2006, mainly describing a family's joys and sorrows across the Taiwan Strait.

Young composer Su Hainan and singers Luo Jingli have a pair of twin daughters Qiangqiang and Weiwei. Their life was happy and calm, but Luojing Li wants to go to Taiwan since her uncle in Taiwan was paralyzed in bed and needs to be attended. Su Hainan disagreed and eventually they broke up after intense conflics. Luo Jingli went to Taiwan with her younger daughter Weiwei, and Su Hainan stayed in Hainan with the older daughter Qiangqiang.

After ten years of hardship, Qiangqiang and Weiwei had grown up, and both became outstanding young singers with their parents'teaching. In the "Cross-Strait Youth Singers Grand Prix" the twin sisters got into the finals, and became the most powerful competitors. In the preliminaries, the older sister Qiangqiang was two scores better than Weiwei. Stubborn, headstrong and competitive Weiwei took emotional confrontation and refused to recognize her sister who met her in the hotel in spite of their mother's persuasion. The mother Luo Jingli got into the dilemma and thus led to the embarrassing meeting with Su Hainan.

Time for the final approaching, both Qiangqiang and Weiwei chose their own best good repertoire "Twin Lotus in the Sea", which had been composed by their father Su Hainan and brought Weiwei many awards in Taiwan. Knowing Qiangqiang chose the same song, Weiwei got more misunderstanding and hatred for her sister. However, Qiangqiang gave up her best song and replace for another new song. Weiwei finally got the championship, and also realized her sister's affection, care and tolerance.  Getting off the podium, she looked for her sister actively.

The film artistically demonstrated the historical changes and the beautiful, unique natural scenery and cultural landscape of Sanya in the reform and opening up period with the narrative structure through time and space intersect. With the film-specific character relationships, it depicted the joys and sorrows, the emotional exchanges, and the blood affection between the twin sisters and even the people across the Taiwan Strait. The film also implies a theme: the same soil,  the same day, the same blood, and the same ancestor, one called Hainan, the other Taiwan, we are the twin lotus in the sea". This theme adds richness and ambiguity to the film.

Renowned composer, musician, Vice-Chairman of Heilongjiang Province musician association, Qi Qiaoli, wrote two songs "twin lotus in the sea" and "Beautiful Sanya is your home too" for the film. Golden Rooster Award Best Supporting Actress winner Zheng Weili, well-known actor Zhao Xiaochuan, Wang Shijun, young actors Mu Qitong, Mu Xintong, He Minghan, Liu Yuxin co-played in the film.

The famous CCTV host Ni Ping, the famous director Yang Yazhou, and many other celebrities of literature and arts attended the premiere today.
