Madeleine went missing on May 3, 2007, from a hotel room in the Portuguese holiday resort of Praia da Luz.
Her parents launched a global appeal for information, but there have been no confirmed sightings of her since she vanished.
Mr and Mrs McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, believe she was abducted from her bed while they ate dinner with friends at a nearby restaurant.
The CEOP message was accompanied by two digitally enhanced pictures showing Madeleine as forensic imaging experts believe she would look at six years old.

It was designed to play on the guilt of an abductor or accomplice, and shame them into coming forward.
Mrs McCann, also 41, said: 'It can't be pleasant having that burden. We are just trying to prompt them.'
The video message has been released in seven different languages, including English, Portuguese and Arabic.
Mr McCann said it was a 'world first' and added that he hoped it would be seen by his daughter's captor.
He said: 'We're optimistic that this message will get to them, it will cause them to wrestle with their conscience... We are hopeful.
'You would have to be living in another world not to see this message  -  that's what we're relying on.'
