Without help, these twins might also wonder why Santa Claus did not bring them anything for Christmas, so their grandmother has again turned to Globe Santa. She has written for the last few years as her budget has become tighter.

Her grandsons have not been disappointed.

The boys have discovered toys, books, games, and candy under their Christmas tree and known only the joy of the Christmas holiday, not the disappointment of being left out.

"Seeing their faces on Christmas morning makes me so happy," she wrote. "If you could help us have a better Christmas I would be forever thankful."

These two boys will join thousands of children throughout eastern Massachusetts who find presents on Christmas day thanks to the generosity of thousands of individuals and groups who donate money to Globe Santa.

For more than 50 years, Globe Santa has been helping brighten the holiday for families fighting through tough times.

But the campaign could not succeed without Santa's Friends, and contributions are needed to make sure all the families that have asked for help find gifts on Christmas day.

Last year, more than $1.3 million was raised, and toys were delivered to 54,286 children in 30,268 households. Because the Globe pays all the administrative costs associated with the campaign, all money donated to Globe Santa is used to buy gifts. If you have a computer, you can go to www.globesanta.org to learn more about the annual fund drive or to make a donation.
