Wedding emcee kept confusing bridegrooms
At noon yesterday, the wedding of Xinzhou twin brothers in a hotel on the Yanjiang Road of Hankou attracted many other customers at the hotel. When the twins stood at the door, many passing citizens even exclaimed, "hey, how the two boys look alike!"
Friends and relatives who come for congratulations said to the twins' parents Zhou Chusong and Tong Qunying enviously, "How lucky you are to have such a pair of good twin sons!" Zhou Chusong, Tong Qunying laughed happily.
Since the brothers have similar appearances and similar dresses, the emcee was confused at the wedding ceremony for several times although he had tried hard to distinguish them in advance. "It was the bridegroom Zhou Duowen's speech just now and let's invite the next one Mr. Zhou Duowu for speech." The emcee said and held the hand of one bridegroom. The audience all burst into laughter and the bridegroom said awkwardly, "I am Zhou Duowen and my brother is over there."
Thoughtful twins from poor family
Speaking of her sons, 52-year-old Tong Qunying became quite talkative with pride.
She said that her two sons were born in October 1983 and they were born with a time difference of one hour. Grandpa hopes the brothers to be good at both art and military, so they got the names Duowen and Duowu, meaning civilian and military respectively.
In 1985, her husband Zhou Chusong got laid-off and the whole family depended on her sewing work. Despite the poverty, they have been teaching their children to study well and not to compare with others.
In order to save money, the brothers hardly bought any clothes until college and all their clothes were hand sewn by Tong Qunying. "Each time I make new ones, I make one for each brother with the same style. If it got torn apart, I would sew and mend it for them until it got too broken to wear." We even hardly buy meat at home, "We ate the vegetable we grow by ourselves. We ate porridge in the morning and in the evening and we had rice only once in a day at noon. We had meat only when we had guests coming and that was always the happiest time for the brothers. "
A trivial incident got Tong Qunying deeply moved and impressed. Once at the age of five, Duowu saw others having snacks and asked for money. Duowen then taught him like a grownup and said, "Don't you know that we haven't even got the money to build houses?" After that, the brothers had never got any more "unreasonable" requirements. "Sometimes when paying for class fund, I intentionally gave them fifty cents more. But they gave it back to me after class." |
